hurricane sandy

hey again guys, I just wanted to say that Im pretty much gonna be directly hit by the hurricane being on Long Island. I may not be on the server for as long as a week depending on how badly my area gets hit, and how long the power is out for. Well, at least i may not have school for a couple days. xD cya guys in a bit.

We're getting a little of the fun here at the moment (New Hampshire) but I think people are sensationalizing what will happen up here.

eveythings ok with us so far. We got a couple downed trees which took out power for about 5 hours today but its back up. The worst of the storm is supposed to come at about 7-9 oclock, today being monday. I live in an area with a ton of old big trees so I think that my power may be going out again soon.

Don't try to catch them. They'll be too heavy.

Ah, im back guys. I just got my power back and its been out since i made that last post. Probably about 5-6 days ago. I think i lucky too because my father works for a gas company and they are sort of partnered with the electirc company here. This storm was one of the worst in LI history. It knocked out about 90% of long islands power. 70% of all the gas stations in the area were CLOSED. Then, the rest had lines where you had to wait up to 3 hours for gas.
I have basically thrown out all my food in my refrigerator, and have had to wait on 45min fast food lines to get a nice bite for dinner. You may think, hm not so bad, i got my 4g phone with internet. Nope, all phone lines have been down for the past week and it is difficult to even get through to other people with a call. Nevermind trying to get on the internet. I wish i could say that not having power gave me a good experience, but it was just a pure nightmare. Anyway, long story made short: im happy to have my power back.

Glad you personally are alright. 5-6 days is pretty obnoxious - hopefully with everything on the mend, it'll start to pick up the pace. I have another friend who lives in Queens with her husband, and last I knew they still didn't have power or gas.
